We all know that the Insurance Lobbyist have been courting our State politicians for some time now. And they have obviously been effective as seen with the recent shams of Insurance Laws being passed by the Texas Governing Body. We are getting less coverage and paying more money! Most of us have been laid off or affected by the sudden bankruptcy of companies, which have caused the job market and economy to come to a virtual halt. I am a Systems (UNIX) Engineer with many years of experience, who happened to have worked at ENRON. Many of my friends were simply dumped into the streets with no warning whatsoever and have not been able to find jobs sense. For those of us who were able to keep their homes, life is still hell!
The Governor has allowed the Insurance companies to now enact Credit Scoring, which they now go by. It has doubled our Insurance rates for home, auto, etc. The Insurance companies claim that the reason is because of a high volume of mold claims and Law Suite Abuse. BS! It is because they invested our money in the stock market and lost!
Their responsibility was to take our premiums and put them away for our use when needed! Governor Perry and other Texas Legislatures have allowed them to Rip-Us-Off! Now they are patronizing us with a 15% deduction in the cost of our Insurance when the Governor has already allowed them to raise our rates between 50%-150% depending on your credit score.
It's not our fault the Enron's, WorldCom's, Dynegy's and Arthur Andersen's went Belly Up because of Corporate Greed! Now we are getting Ripped yet again by the Governor and his cozy marriage with Big Texas Insurance Companies. What ever happened to the standard way, which worked just fine: If you don't pay your premiums, you loose your coverage! Why doesn't the Governor go after the few greedy Corporate Execs who got rich and took our money and stole our credit? There is were your Insurance fraud lies!
