I sold my car on 3/27/09 and it was towed a few weeks later. I had sent in my release of liability the day i sold it. I still have a copy of the release. Yet i constantly get harrassing rude calls while im at work that from Rickenbacker Collection agency saying i need to make a payment. Some of the contacts say its already affected my credit and some say its about to depending on how they go about trying to convince me to pay and just get this debt off my back.
In one instance a representative made fun of me because i refused to pay and he said i sounded like an ignorant kid who probably has plenty of blemishes on my credit already and that they will get their money whether i like it or not.
I have stopped answering their calls because i have gone to the dmv many times and they all tell me that this shouldnt be happening, i have read many cases online of people having the same problem with them. And i would like this to end already. I am sending them a letter with a copy of the release of liability and i am hoping this will stop them.
