Persistence in charging a fee for an undesired membership

I chose not to renew a membership fee for Fashion Bug because I don't use it. I have repeatedly received calls and penalty fees for this, although I have requested to be removed from membership. They tell me that they have canceled my account with them but that I'll continue to receive penalties and a bad credit report for non-compliance in paying the fee and penalties.

I have never taken advantage of most of the membership privileges, but have in the past used the credit card they offered and made timely payments in all those instances. Automatic renewal of membership is a sneaky way of entrapping consumers in a position of financial responsibility and is neither fair, nor necessarily convenient.

I want this harassment to cease immediately and to have any bad credit marks removed from my accounts immediately. Currently I am being billed $92.39 for a $20 membership fee that I did not request be renewed.
