After finding a $12 charge on my cc statement for my "free" credit report, I immediately started researching and found this website with all its similar complaints.

I immediately sent an online fraud dispute to my cc company, and called the number for CIC Triple Advantage-877-481-6825 and 6826. I only gave the cust rep my email address so she could look up my account, and she immediately cancelled my membership, and the monthly membership fee of $12.95/mo, when i requested. Although she didn't have a confirmation # of my cancellation, she gave me her name and her corporate ID in order to track her.

I reread the homepage of freecreditreport.com, and it states on the left of the webpage that your credit report is free and is a trial membership to their services. Once you sign up, you automatically get billed the following month for their membership.

If you want to view your credit report for free and NOT get billed, under a new Federal law, you have the right to receive a free copy of your credit report once every 12 months from each of the three nationwide consumer reporting companies.
