Empire Medical Training
Fraudulent, incompetent, failure of speakers to show up!

Miscellaneous

I attended a training course in New York City on June 6th and 7th with this company last year. I registered for the "Dermatology procedures for the primary care practice" workshop from Vancouver, Canada where I live and work, and despite my credit card being debited for this course, when I got there I found that my name was not even on the list of registrants! The next grievance was that the syllabus we were given was not followed at all. On the first day, there was supposed to have been "hands on" training in a few areas, but a couple of them, including "radiofrequency" were omitted. When the trainer was asked about this he stated that the hotel would not allow it. So why was the course booked in such a venue? The training session on the first day ended far earlier than the scheduled time and the topics supposed to have been dealt with from 3.45pm to 6.45pm were done the following morning. On the second day, June 7th, John Ward, the speaker who was supposed to have given the teaching, did not show up, and no explanation was provided for his failure to attend. Dr. Shah, dermatologist gave the talk instead, but it was clear that he was unfamiliar with the slides and repeatedly stated that he had to catch a flight! The session on "marketing strategies" that was supposed to have taken place from 3.25 to 4.55pm that day was completely omitted without any explanation being provided. Dr. Nelligar, who was supposed to have given the talk did not show up! At the end of the course, I was told that I would be mailed a CME certificate which, to this day, has not arrived. Since attending the course, I have sent Empire several emails, none of which have been replied. I eventually made a complaint to the Federal Trade Commission. These charlatans are completely unprofessional and should not be running medical training workshops for MDs. Dr. Cosentino should be stripped of his medical license as all he is doing is defrauding his colleagues! It was by far the worst medical training course I have ever attended.
