Ink Cartridge Refund Refused Despite Receipt at Lexington Store

This is the first and last time I will buy ink from a makeshift store instead of OxxxMxx. First mistake: don't ever buy a Lexmark printer, as ink runs upwards of $80.

I was trying to exchange my ink because I mistakenly bought the #20 cartridge, and the first store sent me to the Lexington Kinko's because "It's a bigger store." The clerk at Lexington told me I need to know the number of the cartridge I need, completely ignoring that the backs of the boxes list compatible printers. It turns out they didn't have the cartridge I needed anyway. Then he refused me a refund even though I have my receipt and bought the ink less than a week ago. He said I need to go to the exact store I bought it from. Since he wasn't knowledgeable on literacy to begin with, I am dubious about his alleged refund policy. Am I asking for too much here?
