Jeff Rafter Craigslist listing payed with VERY suspect check

We posted a rug on Craigslist for $550 and we have been contacted by Jeff Rafter.
He sent us a very strange check of $1450 saying that the difference was for the shipment (he arranged a private shipper for the pick up).
I asked why the name on the check was different from his and he told us that his secretary made the check because he was very busy.
It sounded strange to me so I got a look around and I found other 2 cases of people victims of this scam with checks made by Maria Bruckman for an amount definitely higher than they were asking. Always replying to Craigslist listings.
So I did not even try to cash the check and I filled this report.
