Miscellaneous

I just bought a vehicle where the title has been signed off on 5x. The 1st time was done using a POA (power of attorney) and this POA is supposed to accompany the title or the title can't be used... Period.

The odometer being off was done with an old trick. Larger tires were used than factory spec and thus approx 20% of the real miles do not show on the odometer. Nonetheless, this means the miles shown are NOT accurate.

I've informed Carfax and I'm registered with Carfax with the particular vehicle.

The Vin # is 1GNEK13R8YR109191

Go ahead anyone and punch in this vin #
at Carfax and you can see Carfax gives this vehicle a completely clean bill of health.

Well, it isn't clean.

I've reported almost all the problems to Carfax with this transaction, not just the Carfax related issue.

Bottom line, I have a title I cannot use and an odometer that is not correct and Carfax guarateed these 2 items.

I've already been educated by the County Clerk here as to why the title I was given is useless.

Carfax's positon thus far is to deny any culpability or liability.in other words, they don't even want to allow me to process a claim.

BUT, I still have the problems with the title and odometer. Carfax needs to pay up here as I have hard solid evidence which is beyond any reasonable doubt which is the level of proof required for a criminal case. A civil case requires even less.

Bottom line is Carfax doesn't want to pay when they've screwed up and you've bought a vehicle and relied upon the integrity of the Carfax report.

Tomorrow is another day where the dealer is going to be turned in for these issues and Carfax will have to pay what is due or they'll see it on the 6 o'clock news. TV news people love these kinds of stories.

I simply want what is right. Carfax needs to investigate and I need compensation. We trusted Carfax.
