Sirius charges renewel and send's me to credit collecter after i canceled account

For starters I'd like to say I've been a huge Howard Stern fan for over 15 years now. So i made the mistake of following him to Satellite. I started a account with Sirius back in June. I opted to go one year to see how the services worked and how well my reception was. From the start i had mediocre reception at best. I live just west of Boston, Ma. I use to work out of my truck on a daily basis, So it was nice to have Sirius/Howard to listen to during the work day. Well, I was promoted from the field to a office position in December. Howard Stern isn't a option in my office enviorment, Sorry to say. So i figured instead of canceling the account i would let it run out in 6 month's. So in May of I called Sirius to confirm that i was not going to renew in June and informed them that my billing information had changed. My previous card that i used to activate the account had expired and i was given a new one. Needless to say, I received multiple letters by mail and e-mail try to entice me to return. I called back in July when i received a e-mail that did not seem to make sense to me. I was assured that my account was canceled and i was worried over nothing. Next thing i know, My home phone (which i never gave to Sirius) was ringing 10 times a day by a bill collector. Stating that i owed them $26.00 for a over due balance from Sirius. I called Sirius only to be treated like garbage and told that my issue wasn't their problem. It was in the bill collectors hands now and they already got the money they charged me from the collection company. I was told that "according to our account notes" "you called us in July to check on renewal pricing. If i could reach through a phone i would have killed that customer service rep. Now they are just straight out lying to me. To top this off i have found out that it is affecting my credit rating and that i would not be able to refinance my home due to this discepency. I am beyond irate at this point. Sirius has abused the trust of its subscribers and has stolen money right from my pocket. I am presently seeking Legal advice. But feel that this issue should be known by any present or future possible subscriber to their service. I hope Howard doesn't renew his contract and that company fall's to peices.
