Marten Transport ruined my reputation as a good driver. Never had any incident or accident in my entire career as a truck driver. I have a good job, makin' good money with this trucking co, when suddenly they loose contracts that made me attracted to look for another job.

Marten Transport was one of the fastest to get me in, they will do anything for you to get you in; free airline to Mondovi Wisconsin, free hotel and food, but in the orientation things will change, becoz these free things will be paid by you - the driver, regardless of how you leave the co. Within 6 months.

Marten Transport will bombard you with lots of informations, and you don't ride with a driver to get familiarized with the operations, they will assigned you with a truck and a fleet manager on your first day, (which maybe good for some drivers who are experienced).

Marten Transport will start you with a local delivery, and don't expect to get a good settlement for that, becoz driver will get paid few miles times the rate which is also lower than expected.

Marten Transport will dispatch new drivers: pick up today, wait up to 6 hours, drive 300 miles tomorrow, and deliver it the 3rd day and wait another 6 hours at a grocery DC, and driver will only get paid the 300 miles x rate (. 03 cents lower than was told) becoz driver automatic goes into per diem which at the end of the year driver will pay more taxes, and Marten will report this as expenses, as for the driver, these are due for taxes. - driver is the LOOSER.

You make one mistake or incident/accident (minor or major), you - the driver - is done with the company. Wherever you are located, driver will get a call, will be told to clean up your truck, pack your things and go home, they will arrange a greyhound bus for you, and if you want airplane, you are on your own.

Marten Transport ruined my reputation as a good driver becoz this is actually what happened to me. I never had any accidents in my entire driving. One minor accident of which I never expect to happen (that's why we call it accident-it can happen to anyone), Marten will not give second chance, I am out the first time I make a mistake. And when I apply for other trucking jobs, when they learn that I was let go by Marten, these companies will not hire me.
