Actors on Set is using Craigslist in Washington, DC to recruit actors and models. The service has a legitimate number for a couple days while credit card information and portfolio information is gathered from an interested party/victim of the fraud.
Once the credit card payment is processed and portfolio information entered, the portfolio disappears and the phone number appears also to change or become inactive.
On January 21, a person named Tim worked in this scam at the now inactive number 323-908-3693, giving erroneous number 323-825-4074, also showing on the website www.actorsonset.com, as a number in order to report any problems as well as to get a refund within 90 days if no calls for acting ensued from the portfolio entered online.
As of January 26, all portfolio information is deleted, the company phone number and listed address are fraudulent, and the subsequent 323-908-3693 number is not in service. The original number of 877-882-9054 number is still working and a person by the name of Alex answered the call.
