Experience -10... Associates 10 - Bicycle

Miscellaneous

My shopping experience at Target this evening was certainly less than desireable. I visited the Dayton Mall store on Miamisburg/Centerville Rd., Dayton, OH to purchase a bicycle advertised in this past Sunday's newspaper insert—a seemingly easy task. I entered the store and proceeded directly to the toy area and to "bicycles". Not finding what I was looking for, I pressed the automated service button that promised that a"team member" would visit me within 60 seconds. Over 20 minutes and three added punches (with a similar message) on the "assistance" button, there was still no response. Seeing double doors to the warehousing area labeled "Team Members Only" I entered and fouind a phone, dialing "O". The operator answered and apologized and promised to "send me someone". Out of the blue a young man named Kristian Beyer appeared and took me under his wing. Sensing my dissatisfaction, he went above and beyond the call of duty, locating another team member (John I.) who helped identify the merchandise, assuring me that it was not available. Kristian then proceeded to actually accompany me to "Guest Services" and, because of the back-up and lack of personnell, actually printed raqin checks for me. This stores communications systems were "down" and he could not check the availability of this product at other stores. Nevertheless, he singlehandedly turned a very negative experience into a positive one and deserves "Kudos" from the corporation!!! A stop at a second Target (Sugarcreek) yielded similar "out-of-stock" results, however one team member WAS ABLE to check inventories at other stores and a "Guest Services" associate actually called ahead to assure availability and asked the Team Member to whom she spoke to bring the bike up to the "Guest Services" area. When I arrived at the third (3rd) Target of the nite (Beavercreek), my long sought bicycle WAS at Guest Services and the Team Member working there actually rang up the sale for me. It was a long and frustrating two-hour shopping session, punctuated with many inconveniences and negative experiences, but, likewise, saved by your ONE Dayton Mall Target Associate... Kristian Beyer. PLease see that he is recognized and thanked for saving a Target sale and customer for the future. Sincerely...
