We signed up for an "honor program" through a school fundraiser. After the initial fee of $100, you essentially, agree to shop at a specific fuel vendor and spend $100 a month in gas. You collect the receipts and mail them off post-dated by the end of said month are supposed to receive a $25 visa gift card for each $100 spent.
We did this. We mailed our receipts on 12/12/09 and today, 1/11/10, it was "returned to sender, no forward." Upon greater research, I found that this is a scam and the company is not honoring these receipts.
We are out our initial investment of $100 and most likely, the school in which we were raising money for is not to receive their money either.
The really sucky thing is that all of the websites are still up and running and they are showing that they have this big insurance policy to cover the expenses.
