Consumer Research Program Sent bogus check for 4,980 told me to deposit it into my account. Being smart I didnt deposit it I took it to the local check cashers and they told me it was counterfeit

On 01/02 I received a check for 4,980 saying I've been selected to participate in a Consumer Research Program. At the bottom of the page it tells me to call this #514-623-5818 to activate the check I spoke with a Robert Young and he told me he activated the check and I could deposit it into my account. It didnt sound right so I took it to the nearest check cashing place and they told me it was counterfeit. These people are not doing anything but trying to ruin people credit when they deposit the check into their account it comes back bounced. I have a friend right now who is on probation for something like this they deposited money into her account and it bounced they accused her of fraud
