Billed my credit card 12 days AFTER I closed account! Ripoff

I had an auto insurance policy with GMAC Online - AKA GMAC 123. When I learned that they were going to JACK my rates 36% for NO APPARENT REASON, I called their customer service department and verbally cancelled the account. At their request I additionally cancelled the account by e-mail and left specific instructions that my credit card was NOT to be billed.

Guess what, 12 days later they billed my card for the JACKED up rate. I was furious. The charge sent my card over the limit and also caused a late fee that I have yet to see. I yelled and screamed so loud that they credited the initial amount within a ouple of days. But how much interest does GMAC earn from all of their erroneous charges? Where is my late fee? Why do I always get charged late fees when MEGA-CORPS can basically screw me as they please, all the while saying "It's out policy."?

Do not give gmac your credit card number - they flat-out stole from me.
