On August 7 I contacted a company which was featured on CNN Money web site as an unbelievably successful work from home situation connected with Google. I clicked on the link and was taken to a page that offered information for one dollar. I foolishly ordered the information using my Chase debit card. The transaction showed up on my Chase account as "XM Health & Beauty 1-800-864-9920." On August 12, a charge appeared on my debit card from the same merchant for $89.97. I tried to call the 800 number but got only a recorded message thanking me for my call and saying a customer rep would be with me soon. Then there was a series of beeps and the call was disconnected. I immediately went to Chase and canceled my debit card. Chase takes a week to issue a new one. After making about 20 calls to Chase I reached a customer rep with a strong Southeast Asia accent, who said that Chase was aware of the company and would refund the amount to my account. I reported this to the FBI internet crime unit, the Oregon Attorney General (I am in Oregon), and BBB Florida. This company has been ripping people off for months. Why hasn't some government entity shut it down?
