L'Oreal mascara - Voluminous

Why is it so difficult to find if mascara is waterproof or not. There are no other products that I have to concentrate so hard on when I am buying it and I end up picking out the wrong one every other time! I am an educated person, work in marketing and I still can;t get it right!!! What a waste of money when I am always buying the wrong mascara!!! So annoying loreal!
