Penofin Wood Stains - Performance Coatings Poor peformance not like advertised

My wife and I built our retirement home;the log home we had always dreamed about. We used the most expensive type of penofin stain (red label) in what was supposed to be a light chestnut color. The houses finish turned out to be a dark brown/black. It wasn't at all the color we desired or what the manufacturer advertised. I was unaware other people had a similiar problem until I read about it on the internet. I just wish we could afford to have the penofin removed and have our house restained with a product which would give us the desired color and result. It is very unfortunate we used and believed the penofin product would perform as advertised.
