Beware of the promise to find you a job!

At one of the most terrible points in my career, I happened upon Career Performance Group and the great salesman Michael Williams. We discussed my resume. Michael went on an on about how based on my experience, there is no reason why I shouldn't be in a role that paid me six figures. The only reason he felt I couldn't find a job on my own was that I was still doing it the old fashioned way. Looking on the internet or trying to get a referral from someone I knew. The problem was, according to Mr Williams, the job market doesn't work that way anymore. Their company, as he stated, had their hands on the pulse of the job industry and for 4600.00 he could guarantee me a position inside of 6months. Feeling desperate, I paid up.By the way, I told him that I was afraid that this wouldn't work and since I had recently lost my job, my savings were very important to me and I couldn't afford to do this if he didn't think they would find me a job. That scheister looked me in the eyes and said it would work. Long story short, this is a glorified over paid career coach. They did not find me a job. I continued to look for work and they gave me advice on how to conduct myself in the interview.interviews that I found on my own, without their help. They have no list of jobs or companies. That's it folks. I should have known when they refused to give me referrals. Don't fall for this unless you have 4600.00 to donate to their cause. These people knew that I had lost a job and that I would be using 4600.00 of my savings, money that was needed to pay our living expenses. That did not matter to Michael Williams. After 9 months of going to their office, I realized this was a rip off. 1/08 to 10/08.By the way, when I stopped, no one ever called.By the way, they moved from Inverness Center Prkway to Chase Corporate Center 2 months after I paid the fee and conveniently forgot to tell me. Oh they are nice people but it has been my experience that most thieves are!!!
