All American Sweepstakes Drawing

I received a letter today (7-21) dated July 9 stating I was one of the winners in the "ALL AMERICAN SWEEPSTAKES DRAWING". It stated the drawing was held on July 5 under the auspices of GAMES/GAMING ASSOCIATION OF NORTH AMERICA.

It also stated an entry slip with serial number 7643891 attached to your name drew the lucky winning numbers 01-11-78-25-87. It stated I was entitle to the sum of $150,000.00 and would be paid by certified check and delivered to me by thier special courier company. It even gave a claim agent's name of JULIE WILFRED and to call 1-778-861-7277. I did try to call the number, but every time I called, it said the client was not available and to try back later. I googled the name on the letter and found it to be a rip off. The check was in the amount of $3,450.00 and I was to take it my bank and deposit it and send them $2,900.00 in a money gram to Margaret Smith, 10310 Jasper Ave., Edmonton, AB T5J 2W4 Canada. It was to be paid either money gram or Western Union. It had in all caps: DO NOT ACT ON THIS LETTER UNTIL YOU SPEAK WITH YOUR CLAIMS AGENT, JULIE WILFRED, who will advise you on the modalities of claiming your winnings.

This is about the third letter I have received from individuals trying to rip me off and have me to put the check in my bank. Some way and some how, these people need to be stopped. Mind you, some people will jump at the chance to try to cash the check because they really think they have won something. I pray for these people and hope they will one day, do the right thing.
