I received a letter stateing that I was a sweepstakes winner and this the letter.

You have been announced one of the winners in the "CONSUMER PROMOTIONS SWEEPSTAKES DRAWING" organized for all telephone subscribers, and customers on the participating retail stores in the United States, U.K. And Canada for the promotion of families and customers well-being which was held on the 28th day of January under the auspices of Games and Gaming Association.
An entry slip with serial number 227-923 attached to your name drew the lucky winning numbers 07-12-29-35-43.

You are therefore entitled to the sum of US $285,000 (TWO HUNDRED AND EIGHTY FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS) payable to you by CERTIFIED CHECK, and will be delivered to you by the Prize Patrol through our designated special courier company. You are advised to contact your assigned claim agents:

I called even though I was sure it was a scam. They instructed me to deposit the check (which my bank would not deposit. Go figure... Nor would check cashing companies cash the check. BIG FAT SCAM!!! The check was issued (haha) by Interaudi Bank of New York so I called them as well and they said tear the check up... Please do not be deceived by these aholes...
