Sears phone dis-service - Garrage door controlle

After my Sears garage door remote controller broke I called to see if I could get a replacement. A unit was suggested ($56.00) and I ordered it. Two weeks later it showed up and I installed it. Trouble is it only worked once and then stopped. I called the service line indicated on the unit's documentation. After waiting almost 45 minutes I got through to an operator. Of course this was a screening operator and she transferred me to the support person for this equipment — 30 minutes more waiting. To my surprise the person answering the phone only had one agenda - not helping me with my brand new Craftsman product — she wanted to know if the warranty for service was valid. After several questions she said that I would have to be transferred to technical support. After 30 minutes with no answer I gave up. Sears used to be a good store. I may never go back.
