My COBRA benefits had expired and because I am diabetic, I knew that I needed to carry some type of insurance. The only problem is... I didn't sign up for this insurance and for a year they have been taking $209.90 per month from my checking account. When I contacted the bank, and had a chance to look at the 'supposed' check, the check was typed, no signature by me, and the check date was updated each month.

I was paying almost $500 per month for health insurance benefits that really weren't benefits at all. When I had to go to the emergency room, imagine my surprise when I got the bill from the hospital. The 'insurance' company paid a total of $100 on a nearly $7,000 bill. Other providers from the emergency room billed the insurance and after six months had still not had any response to the bills.

On Monday, July 6, I contacted the insurance company to cancel the policy effective immediately. Again, imagine my surprise when I checked my account balance at the bank and realized that they had again taken the $209.90. This hit was taken five days after the cancellation notice was given.

I will contact them again on Monday, July 13.in the meantime, I have contacted the bank and told them that no further withdrawals from my account should be made by this provider. They're truly scammers and need to be shut down.

I will also file a complaint with FTC and the Better Business Bureau on Monday, 7/13/09.

Best of luck to the others that are stuck with this company. It's like a bad nightmare.
