United Benefits Of America - Int'l Assoc Of Benefits-IAB Beware of calls after shopping online for health insurance

Business & Finance

After shopping online for health insurance, I got a phone call from a very pleasant and polite young lady that said she was sure her company could provide health insurance for me even though I have a pre existing health condition.

She gave a lot of details over the phone about the coveage. (first red flag). I had to write frantically to keep up with what she's saying and absorb what it meant. There was a $150 enrollment fee, but I had 30 days from receipt of the information in the mail to cancel and get all of my money back. I gave her my checking account information and waited for the package to arrive.

Within less time than the 30 days, drafts were taken from my checking account. The product they offer is not insurance. It's a supplement to insurance that, for me, offers a $20 a month savings on meds at the rate of $160 for membership.

When I call to cancel, they refuse because they say the agreement was for 30 days from the day they mailed the package. No refund, cost $310.

Meanwhile, other drafts start to show up. No one answers or returns my calls, voicemail is the only option. I've filed a fraud report with my bank and now have to wait for them to complete their investigation.
