For Columbia House And BMG First letter they sent I owed BMG $176.04 from year Columbia House was on second letter. I have never ordered anything from either one

My first letter came that I owed $176.04 to BMG music from 2002. I called and they said I ordered a CD in 2002 and since I didn't pay, they have charged me interest rates compounded daily. I wrote them a letter disputing the alleged debt. They sent me another letter back saying Columbia House was the account. I didn't even live in the state in 2002 that they are claiming the address I ordered from.
Anyone having ay luck resolving the issue? I don't want to waste my time fighting it, but I am not paying a scam.
