I was a sucker - but I'm fighting back

This is the first time I have ever fallen for a scam. I'm SOOOO embarrassed. A college aged guy came to my door and he was so clean cut, talkative, enthusiastic and friendly... Told me about magazines subscriptions that I can buy to be sent to the troops... And of course - the contest points. I backed off - told him I don't buy magazines door to door. Then - the hard sell came out.

He played on every emotion I had.'So much will be donated to a chairty of my choice - it's his opportunity to travel the country and tour colleges ' - and I caved. My hubby was in the window telling me don't do it - it was a scam. Did I listen? NOOOO. I was so convinced it was for real. When I came in the house, my husband told me to look up the company - I found this site. I got taken... I feel like such a fool.

I'm going to fight back. Wi. Law says I can cancel within 3 days. The receipt I signed says — "the written cancellation has to be POSTMARKED within 3 days without penalty." I sent them copies of everything (including a written letter) by certified mail today - one day after.

I Stopped payment on my check today (within the 3 day span). Something tells me that is is going to be a long fight. They said to send in a "cancellation form" - I never got one. This is going to be a fight of "details".

I called my bank - they were so understanding and sympathetic - they said they see this all the time. He also said - Now that they have your account and routing number - and if they want to - they could steal your identity. I'm going to the bank tomorrow to close this account & open a new one.

Hopefully - I can update you. And hopefully — turn in all your complaints - if I have the chance.
