Got a $4,795.00 check in mail stating that I have won a $250,000.00 lottery. I am to take the check to my bank and deposit it, call them to confirm that the check has been deposited in my bank, and go to western union and send $2,970.00 to someone to pay the taxes on my winnings and use the remainder of the money anyway I like. I called them for an explanation and they said it was perfectly safe and this was not a rip off. They tried to convince me of it. But I am on the look out for scammers and I feel that this is one big one.
