We're on our 2nd maintenance agreement with Sears for our Sony big screen TV, not cheap, but figured it was worth it, in case something went wrong. We've tried to get our annual inspection but they don't do weekends and we both work.in fact they ONLY COME TO OUR AREA ON TUES AND FRI between 8-12 or 1-5 you know the drill. 10 days ago our TV developed a major problem, seeing double images and outlines of red and turquoise. We called and scheduled a service visit for the following Tues between 1-5. My husband works 20 miles away 5:30-2:30 but said he'd try to leave early and be here because if you're not you have to reschedule. "Ken", repair guy got here about 3. Said we needed a part, scheduled the next visit for Fri 6/19 1-5 pm. My husband said ok, I'll try to leave work early AGAIN. He got here at 1:00. At 4 "Ken" called and said it's going to be at least 6:00. Husband said okay. At 4:15 "Ken" called and said it's going to be right at "your dinner" hour, can we reschedule? Friday night, Ken wanted to go home. Husband said "Sure if you can come on Wed 6/24, because I have the day off. "Ken" said "I'll be there between 3-4 PM". I got home, message from Sears, no one will be in your area next Wed need to call to resched. The menu when you call doesn't understand what you say. Finally got someone, explained it all, got disconnected. Called back. Finally got a person, she said she "understood our frustration and that they could have someone out on Tues... 8-12 or 1-5? I said we both have to work and could not take anymore time off. I asked to speak to supervisor. She said she couldn't help me either. Asked to speak to someone in customer service. No. Hung up on her. Looked online for Sears customer service phone number. Found it. Called it. Felt really sorry for lady that had to take my call but she said she was only for online customer service. Asked her HOW do I talk to ANYONE that can help. She connected me to Linda with Resolve issues with Repair service. REALLY feel bad for her, because I was insane by now. God bless her though. She emailed Dave Cordell who is supposedly the repair service supervisor in our area. She asked that he call us on Monday (this is Fri, dang weekends!) and try to get someone to come out on Wed when we are home. I thanked her profusely and asked for a number to call her if we do not hear from Dave on Mon. Meanwhile, we are going on vacation next week and having a housesitter but no TV. We have not been able to watch our Netflix movies, or the news or House. We have bought probably at least 12 different electrical products from Sears over the last 20 years, 14 counting my cannister vacs! Have purchased maintenance agreements on all of them. Tons of money. I'm done. I cannot handle the aggravation anymore. I want my TV fixed. If it doesn't get fixed, I want my money back for the last 3 year maintenance agreement that we renewed. I will NEVER buy another Sears appliance or maintenance agreement. Finally figured out, it's NOT worth it. Please share with your friends and family.
