Debrand Fine (Not So Fine) Chocolates This company treats their employees like dirt!

I was an employee of this company for two years. During that time, I was amazed at the lack of appreciation they have for their employees. I only got one raise the whole time that I worked there, for fifty cents! The other employees received a raise after ninety days. I had to wait for nine months! When I asked them about it, I was told, "Oh, I'm sorry, we forgot about you." Now what do you think they would do if I forgot to do my job?

My direct manager, a lady, thought nothing of calling her employees names and talking bad about them in front of the other employees. She would put down the assistant manager in front of me and others. She called me "little girl" (I was 27 at the time) and she called one of the other employees a "ruffian." Whenever I was supposed to be assigned a new project, she would claim she "was too busy." I could never figure out what she was too busy doing! I was also supposed to be trained for jobs in other departments. Once again, they forgot. Keep in mind, I got written up if I "forgot" to do my job.

I also noticed that this company has no regard for the State Department of Health laws. I was told to reuse single-use gloves due to the fact that they were buying too many of them. This is a company that had had two critical violations pertaining to the use of gloves during the candy-making process!

The owners and management of this company seem to have the idea that the rules of decency do not apply to them. They look down their noses at their employees, treating all their staff like garbage. I was so tired of being called "stupid" and a "dumb*."

Finally, after two years of going through this, I was told that I was "too limited" on what I could work on and was laid off. Now keep in mind, they were always "too busy" to train me on new projects or transfer me to another department! They demanded that I sign a termination notice and when I refused, I was escorted out. Beware of Debrand Fine Chocolates!
