Would not refund my $599 fee upon cancellation of service

I needed to sell and/or rent my timeshare, and I went online to find companies that do this. This company called me almost every day.

After a lengthy conversation with a representative (filled with alot of promises), I accepted their representation on April 16. I gave them $599 via credit card over the phone. It was my understanding that any refunds would be prorated. I never signed any agreements or documents before or since that day. There were also many errors in their adversements which took some time to correct.

A few days later, I was told by friends that using them was a mistake. I started researching online and found that this company was less than reputable, is not a member of the BBB, has a C - rating and (much to my surprise) is only an advertising company and not a real estate company. The representative told me that they handle all aspects of a sale or rental. Doesn't sound like JUST an advertising company to me.

On April 20, I requested a refund, which they denied. Again today, I requested termination and a refund. They said they would terminate the listings, but not refund the money.
