Company promised a loan remodication took $1,500 in now 2008 from me and no remodifiaction has been done to date

This company offered a loan remodication i have sent emails upon emails and called hundreds of time with no response. I later found out that they were under investigation by the FCC - I have lost $1,500, which was a good faith pymt i made to them. I am still fight to keep my home and still looking for a loan remodification program to help me. I am now afraid to seek for such programs for fear i may lose out out more money of which i can not afford
