Helium.com
Helium.com steals work, money, safety, and reputation to it's users

Internet & Web

Helium.com is a content driven site that calls for written articles on a variety of knowledge based topics. These topics include but not limited to: lifestlye, home and garden, debates, how-to-guides, tutorials, and other areas of interest. This website calls for writers to write on topics of interest and produce a large database of knowledge for it's users. Most of the knowledge is incorrect, sometimes causing harm to those who read and believe it. One user who has been a fireman for many years noticed an article that could be dangerous if someone had followed the advice. Helium doesn't care if someone loses their lives in a fire and that person was not taken seriously. He posted this on the forum.

Writers are suppose to make money off of the site, most earn less than 25 dollars a year, but have the opportunity to earn more in the marketplace. Many writers have given hundreds of articles and never have been paid. The marketplace is a scam, the publishers have pseudo names and not real ones because some of them are owned by helium. They do not pay the writers and the pay system is generated by fraud. I have looked at my earnings and the earning have fell rather than rised within a days time.

They will refuse to take your work offline and make money off of your hard work and dedication. I have been harrassed and stalked by a helium user. The website encourages to keep your profile and contact information available in case there are potential "publishers" interested in your work. That way the "publisher" can contact a writer. This leaves open that anyone can contact the user and it results in heavy spam, stalking, insulting, and other forms of abuse. The site administrators do not care about the users safety.

They have a lot of writers that haven't been paid, including me. When I finally asked about payment I was ignored. I asked about this and their other gimmicks on the forum as I was told to do and I was banned from the forum for asking. They will censor information that sheds a bad light on them, but they are scamming a lot of writers. I have not lost enough money to follow a suit, but there is a website of writers who have lost a lot of money. One such victim located at www.heliumsucks.com seems to have been one of them hurt the most. More writers are logging in to protect the community from this scam.

Please do not sign up for this site. It will give you a lot of spam, insults, and hatred, in addition to false newsletters with gimmicks and other contests that are deceptive.
