Door to Door magazine sales from College kid is a rip-off

Six months ago my doorbell rings. I open it to a college kid who tells me he is trying to raise money by selling magazine subscriptions for a trip to Europe. He said that magazine subscriptions could be purchased for charity or for my use. I looked at a list that he had and ordered a children's magazine for my daughter. Paid him a total of $30 and he filled out a receipt with his ID Number and said I would be receiving the magazine in 3 months. Well, 6 months later, I haven't received anything. I tried calling the number on the receipt and the number is not in service. There is no way of tracking this company down now or the college kid that scammed me. Don't fall for this scam.
