Rla
Door-to-door magazine scam, 7 months and no magazine

Miscellaneous

On 7-19-08 a young man, Rich Poole, knocked on our door and had a sales pitch that he was a college student earning is way to win a trip by selling magazine subscriptions. He stated that other salespersons were in the neighborhood selling also so he would like us to buy from him.

I really did hesitate to buy magazines at the door. I told him I didn't need any more magazines. My son came down and listened and saw a gaming magazine he was interested in and was willing to pay 1/2 of the price-$22. I decide to trust the salesman and please my son too, so I paid the other 1/2 of the price-$22.

I should have listened to my conscience instead. 7 months later and multiple calls to 866-708-26262 and 972-347-2626 and no response and no magazine.
I left multiple messages for a return call, but no calls were returned. My sales receipt # 017234370.

By reading the other reports, my $44.00 for the magazine must be a set price. Also this Rich Poole person must get around because I (live in Maryland) saw his name on an Illinois report also.

My son is a college student also and he works hard for his own money and now he has learned a hard lesson... Don't ever buy magazines from door-to-door salespeople.

I would really appreciate a return call from the messages that I left or an opportunity to receive a full refund. This is why people don't participate in phone solicitations or door-to-door sales... I won't again.
