RD Services Frank Lucas Readers Digest
Scam still alive. Frank Lucas still at it in 2009

Miscellaneous

Just wanted everyone to know that the fake check scam claiming you have won a prize from Readers Digest is still going on. I received a letter from RD Services today signed by a Frank Lucas (514) 570-3233 along with a check for 3,060.75 claiming that I had won the 3rd grand prize of $150,000. Oo and that they were sending me this check to cover insurance, handling duty and taxes fees. I was told not to cash the check until I called.

So I did, knowing full well this was a scam. He did answer and I flat out asked him if this was a scam and he said no why would I think that. He said he didnt want any personal info or even my social security number. He answered all my questions as if I were a stupid idiot and wanted to make sure I cashed the check today. He even told me what to tell the bank in case they questioned the check.

The check even looks like a photocopy on the back. I searched the web and found most info on this to be from 2007 and 2008 and I just wanted people to be aware that he is still out there. The company whose checks he is using in my case is from PENSION Financial Services Inc. I checked their website and they are aware of the scam and advise that these checks will not be honored at the bank. I also contacted the attorney generals office in PA who said they are also aware of this person.
