Another work-from-home scam using the Google name

Here is the complete story as sent to "support@googletreasurechest.com" which came back as undeliverable.

When I was unable to find a web site entitled www.bobbymakesbank.com I decided that I would cancel my request for the "kit". I called the number given on the offer - 1.800.497.4988. The gentleman with whom I spoke (Mike) told me that I had not reached the proper number and gave me the following number to call:

1.866.951.1406. The gentleman with whom I spoke at this number (Bret) asked for my name and address and said that he would immediately cancel my account. He gave me the cancellation number of 041409-259-7083. I then asked if he could please verify the cancellation in an email to me and he told me that he was unable to do so. He told me to go the Internet site called:

Internetincomeincentives.com where I could type in this cancellation number and it would show me that my account was indeed cancelled. Only one problem there... That web site does not come up.

I went on to say... Does this not reek of sham to you? Kindly tell me just how I can receive confirmation of my cancellation by return email. If I do not hear from you I will have to assume that this indeed is a sham and will contact the proper authorities. Thank you.

As stated above, this email was returned as "undeliverable".

I immediately cancelled the credit card that I had given them. Fortunately I'm only out $1.97. An inexpensive but very important lesson.
