I signed up on the Internet for a CD from Grant Funding Research because the CD was supposed to help guide a novice in finding grants. I was to be charged $1.98 for a CD, so I signed up. I waited and waited and never received a CD. Then I received a call from a man in early March wanting to talk to me about my experience with the CD. I told him I never received it and since I had him on the phone I wanted to cancel right then and there. He agreed to cancel me on the spot but told me after I received the CD I should again call 888-210-2544. I told him since he was canceling me on the spot there was no reason for me to do such a thing, right? Correct. So, time passes and I get my monthly bank statement and I see a charge for $69.95 from Grant Funding Research. I immediately got on the phone to them and first spoke to someone named 'Chris Rice.' After speaking for some time and gettting absolutely no where with this person I found myself disconnected. I called back asking to speak to 'Chris Rice' and I got uh's and ah's and finally this person I spoke to the second time told me there was no way I would get a refund. I informed them I would contact my lawyer (I don't have a lawyer) and the Better Business Bureau and that they needed to give me a physical address immediately. After much ado, I got a physical address. I was told by both persons above that I would get an email from them cancelling my membership. Fine. I got home, checked my email and had received nothing from them. Again, on the phone to a third person and I kept that person on the phone while at the computer until she/he did in fact send me an email stating I was cancelled. I am livid! I told all these people their company was a fraud and how dare they rip hard working people off. No response. So there, I too, as intelligent as I think I might be at times, got scammed and I feel real stupid about it. If you are one of the many, don't feel you are alone because you are not!
