Hope Now Modifications.com - HNMFS
Took large sums of money for loan modification, never contacted our loan company

When I lost my job we knew we were in trouble with being able to pay our large mortage, so we went online to gather information and found Hope Now. We thought this company was part of the federal program. A very nice rep called us, gave us assurances that he would help us, and asked for a long list of documentation.

They also asked for a month's mortage that would be put in escrow, which would be returned if they could not help us, and we paid them—over $3300 in our case. They said that the person in charge of our case would call us soon, a Kathyrn Thompson. They strongly suggested NOT paying our mortgage.

I had to ask six times for some sort of receipt for this payment, and finally received it two weeks later—a paypal transaction. The person in charge of our case never contacted us, and I talked to our contact three more times—he said we were not contacted by this Kathryn Thompson because all was in order&our case would be settled in a couple of weeks.

After seven weeks, I attempted to call, I emailed, etc, and could never get a person or response. We then got notice of foreclosure, so we called our mortgage company, AND THEY HAD NEVER BEEN CONTACTED by Hope Now.

This company now goes by the name of HNMFS. We have filed complaints with both the Illinois States' Attorney and New Jersey's State Attorney, but our house is now in foreclosure.
