Garnished wages and will not tell me how much I still owe

Shortly after my husbands death hiday & ricke had my bank records subpoenaed, looking for insurance money. They sent garnishment papers to my employer. None of which I was aware of until my corporate office called.

I called, GWard at this firm and he didn't know what the garnishment was for but that it went back to 1988 and a judgement in 2001 for $3450 (or so).. I was never given the opportunity to pay this nor given a chance to find out what it was for. My check was garnished. Not 1 piece of mail was sent to me, not a bill, not a notice nothing.

My paycheck is the only source of income I have and they are getting almost $500.00 a month. When I told GWard I wanted to settle he said it would take $6660 (an additional $3200) and he would need ALL of my personal information before they would consider it. I did not want to give them this info but GWard said he would accept the full amount but still could not tell me what it was for.

This firm is not listed with the BBB and now I know why. They stink. They could care less about my situation or even if they get the money back. They do care about acting God like. Power is what they care about.
