Caution: Bait & Switch SCAM Here!

After going to their website I ordered a high-end portable Garmin GPS unit and providing all the information necessary to complete a transaction I got an e-mail that said in part:

Order # 109337-W

Dear xxxxxxx,

We thank you for choosing Camera Giants as your choice for all your photographic equipment.

In order to further verify your order, we will need to speak with you on the phone. Please call our Verification department at 888-900-7468 Ext. 211
John so we may verify and complete processing your order.

[I had seen from their web page that they were trying to sell accessories for the GPS unit that were grossly over-priced. Example $3.00 screen protectors, were being sold for $29.95! And memory cards were being sold for many times the going market price.]

When I called I was asked in I wanted the "super" SD memory card or the "ultimate" memory card. I said I didn't need a memory card and was told "Well, yes you do need a memory card to store your locations and complete your system. I said I didn't need a memory card.

The response was "Okay, then I send you an e-mail confirming your shipment in about 3 to 5 weeks". I said "Whoa! 3 to 5 weeks, I selected 3 to 5 day shipping." The response was "Okay, you want to cancel the order?"

Yes, I canceled the order.

My recommendation, STAY AWAY FROM THESE SCAM ARTISTS!!!
