EBay scam

I was on autotrader.com and found a 2006 Dodge Charger Daytona Series R/T for sale for $5,000. Seemed too good to be true. I sent and email through the autotrader website and it took a couple days but I was thriled to hear back from this Peter Hernandez. He said it was cash only first com first serve. Mint condition. 51258 miles. He wanted me to send my address and phone number so he could contact eBay.

Peter wanted to go through there so it is secure. I recieved 2 ebay emails, or what appeared to be, and a phone call from Robert Fisher. 3233194897. He claimed to be from eBay motors and instructed me to get a MoneyGram for the amount and send it to Dustin Russell 5727 Melrose Ave. Los Angeles CA 90038, he was supposed to hold the money until I decided whether or not I agreed to keep the Charger. I then had to fax him a confirmation.

I ater recieved a call from a Jack Meyers who claimed to be the driver that was shipping the vehicle. After an extremely short phone call and a unreachable number I was reassured by Robert Fisher the car was on the way. After 2 days of hearing from them, nothing. No car. No money. What was I thinking. It was too good to be true for a reason. Whoever is responsible hacked some woman's computer and stole information about her vehicle.

Autotrader caught the scam and removed it from their site, but forgot to inform me after sending a message and my email to the 'seller'. Dont let this happen to you. You never talk to an eBay rep. And you never do MoneyGrams or WesternUnion. All I have so far is knowing the cash was picked up in Brooklyn and one number was in California. One in Texas. And the email address. Next time I'll go through a dealership.
