Last night a young girl came to my house and was selling magazines to earn points for her school. She told me she was from Georgia and is learning Customer Relations and PR. Being an advocate of higher education I was suckered into this. Sadly to say I am a very untrusting person but in this instance I let my guard down. She acted like we've known each other for years. She asked if she could come into my house, use my bathroom and get a drink of water. It was cold yesterday and her being a young woman I didn't really feel threatened. I bought a magazine from her paying by check (1st mistake). She asked if I could pay half cash because she gets extra points if I pay cash. I told her I didn't have any cash.
After she left I had this overwhelming feeling I was just scammed. I was literally sick to my stomach. My instincts were right. My husband googled the company and low and behold I wasn't the only one that has fallen for this. What really bothered me was I let her in my house and now felt like my house was being cased. Thankfully I was able to close my checking account before anything really bad happened and now I have my neighbors watching my house. Like I said earlier, I don't trust anyone but SUCKER hits all of us at some point. Don't be a victim to this scum.
I agree with the other person... Only trust the Girl Scouts. It's sad to say but this is the world we live in now.
