Don't rent from these people!

If you rent from Bernard Allison, you're bound to get screwed. They hire some real low lifes and give them the title of leasing agent. Back in September '08, I had to relocate to Illinois 'cause of work. It was more economical for me at the time to leave my belongings there, and pay my contract out, beings it wasn't up 'till January 31st, '09. I didn't have 1400 dollars at that time to bail out on them. So I locked the doors and away I went. Come mid October, I came back to find my belongings all in good shape, just how I left them. Not long after that, I was 3 days late w / the rent, due to the time I got paid. I called back to the apartments, told them the deal, kept them up to speed on what my deal was. I never said I wouldn't pay them. They said there was an eviction notice on my door, stating it was "what they had to do." Whatever. I called the morning after I sent the money order, asking if they got it. I got told it's here. Great, so I said, do I need to come back to Albuquerque for court, or anything whatsoever? This girl said, no, you're good to go. I came back January 12th to find my bed, tv, tv stand, and stove, GONE. Not in the closet, I mean nowhere. Both doors were locked on top of it all, just how I left them. I called the police, got the report, and let the management know about it the next morning. They knew nothing of it. It was later discovered that my tv stand was in the maintenance shop, disassembled. It's now w / me. They had no idea the stove was gone. Turns out the girls who worked the front office left a real shitstorm for the new management to unfuck. So 2 days ago, I called Bernard Allison to see what they'd do about this. If anyone wants to get a feel for what livid to the point of murder is all about, try having someone steal upwards of 2000 dollars worth of your stuff, just to get told "we can't accept responsibility, we're not in charge of those apartments anymore, you're just going to have to chalk it up as a loss." Then, worse yet, I called the apartments only to get denied the district managers name and number. Bernard Allison told me to get in touch w / the new managements' district manager. I don't get that part. It was Bernard Allison's maintenance assholes who knowingly stole my stuff, 'cause who the hell else would have a key to my place, and lock the door when they left. When I talked to the new management (Riverstone), they found a court dismissal paper in my file. The eviction notice was never removed from my door. How nice. How much of a dumb ass could I be to think 2 young mexican girls know what the fuck they're doing. Big time lesson learned here, people. Don't rent from BA. They're damn sure not out to help.
