Like Above Complaint, Atempt to Repair Leaks Worsened Problem, Contractor Ignores

Miscellaneous

I hired the above company after having new French Doors installed and discovering leaks in the home I had just purchased. I was given a quote stating that the doors had insufficient flashing thanks to the recent install and that there was NO flashing around the two decks flanking the house.

During the course of the project, My Cunha informed me that the doors were "much worse off" and "definitely the issue at hand". As a result, he spent an inordinate amount of time working on the doors and exhausted the amount specified in the estimate before even getting to the decks. He was positive the doors were the issue so he told me doing the decks were an unnecessary and now ADDITIONAL expense.

After completion, the leaking continued.instead of addressing the decks, he informed me that the windows needed attention as well, at an additional cost.
I paid him additional monies for the windows. He also gave me a SIGNED and stamped receipt showing that he had done the decks. The leaking continued and Mr. Cunha insisted that the doors were now the issue and suggested replacement. I had the decks replaced and the leaking still continued.

I hired another contractor who came in and said that the majority of the leaking was from the decks and that the doors were not the primary source of the leaking.in fact, the ice and water shield Mr Cunha had installed was done incorrectly, so that it was actually funnelling water into the building as opposed to away from it all the while having ignored the actual problem.

I left Mr. Cunha well over a dozen messages and sent him 30 emails about this. He responded initially and wanted to talk to the new contractor. He did so and told that contractor that he would calculate a refund. I tried t be patien and left occassional messages reminding him of the need to wrap this matter up. That was two months ago.

Following our initial conversation, he refuses to answer phone calls or emails. He has resorted to evasive tactics, calling me when he knows I am unavailable or demanding calls at an exact time that is impossible to meet. When given the opportunity to call me at any time that suits him, he refuses, telling me he only allocates an hour a week for "administrative purposes (?)" and then refuses to return any of the messages I do leave him. HE has lied, changed his story and falsified facts to allow him to keep money he is not entitled to. Worse, he actually gave a receipt for something he DID NOT DO and now refuses to refund that amount. I have only asked for the amount of that which had to be REDONE, not the work that he did not do or the increased cost of the consequent contractor. He is only a good conractor until he screws up and then he refuses to stand behind his work. Believe the other reviewer. I have no doubt, he too, excountered the same situation.
