False advertising and ripoff artists in Kansas City, Kansas and other major cities Nationwide

Just be aware if you find yourself locked out of your car in a major metropolitan area. Don't call the first large ad you see in the phone book as it is likely to be this bunch.

My college age daughter was sick, it was snowing and she locked her keys in her truck while at a Walgreen's in KC, KS. She called the first ad she saw. These yahoos! First mistake! She was not given a quote over the phone when she asked. 1 1/2 hours later when someone finally arrived in an unmarked vehicle the person took two minutes to unlock her door then charged her $125 and insisted on cash. She was so sick and miserable she just paid it so she could go home.

She called me to tell me what had happened since I had given her that money only the night before so she could see a dr. And get meds. I have made several phone calls, done some research online and have spoken with their "customer service" only to discover what a sham these people are.

They have multiple names, addresses, phone numbers all over the country. They have previously done business out of NY but are currently taking calls nationwide from a call center in FL. I did get a quote from the young lady I spoke with after my daughter's incident and it was more like $33 for the call out and $15 and up for the unlock. Still vague and in no way indicating it would be $125 to simply pop a lock.

The more I read about this bunch the angrier I get. These people have been called out and under investigation for years! Why hasn't anyone shut them down? Why do they still have a full page ad in the phone book? Why are they still bilking probably hundreds of thousands of dollars a year. If not more... Out of people in tough spots? Who knows where that money is actually going.

The "technicians" are evidently illegal, unqualified and easily replaced. I don't think they have targeted my city thank goodness. Too small of a market and people would get wise I think.
