I wanted to add my two cents worth regarding Magic Jack's lousy service. They will not give you any information regarding who you can write to to complain. There are no telephone numbers either. You MUST deal with incompetent people who have some difficulty in appreciating your time and even the language you use.
The service is cheap enough but therein lies the problem. It is cheap... Not inexpensive. I have spent more time on the chat program trying to resolve a problem only to have nothing resolved. Then on subsequent chats, I basically have to start all over again and each person sends me up the line of "supervisory" personnel to do little more than repeat myself.
I believe my most recent experience is about all I can take even if my problem ultimately ends in a working MJ.
So, how much is it worth to put up with ghosts as service technicians? If my phone number wasn't already out there for so many folks to use, I'd just blow it off and start somewhere else.
Another thing of course was covered very well in another report which describes all of the things you can't do with MJ and all of the things you must do in order to make it work.
Finally, the so called great sound quality is not there. I often sound like I'm talking through a paper cup half filled with water. It is awful. It seems to be dependent upon which USB port you use or how many other devices you have hooked up. There is no one at MJ to ask. It is a real mess and I don't foresee any improvement. I wanted it to work. I wanted to recommend it to others. Sorry, on both accounts. Magic Jack is a great concept. As a practical reality, it sucks.
