Cancelled day after I joined, money was taken out of my account anyway

I was looking for houses, found this site and joined, but realized immediately they weren't providing any more info than I had already found. Looked for a cancellation site, but didn't find one. I was sent an e-mail and I responded by cancelling. There were two charges made to my checking account, one for $39.00 and one for $79.00. When I called the # on the page, I was kept on hold for almost 1/2 hour. A customer service rep by the name of "Poppy" told me I couldn't have the charges removed because I didn't have a confirmation code, but she would cancel my subscription. I asked her for an address and she gave me a P.O. Box. I asked her for a street address and she told me I didn't need it, I thanked her for nothing and hung up.
