Unauthorized charges

This company advertises that they will help you find a job. Their jobs that they post are not really their jobs, but jobs that they found advertised in other areas. They are not the kind of recruiter that makes a profit when they place you into a job, instead they charge you up-front and a monthly charge that they do not disclose to you. I requested that my account be cancelled in November when I realized they were charging me monthly (this monthly fee was never disclosed to me).

In December, I spoke with a woman and told her that I had cancelled the account in November and she said I never cancelled it. So I told her to cancel it right then. Then I asked her for my money back for November and December she told me they would not do that and that she didn't like my tone therefore was going to terminate my call. And she hung up. So what, I told myself. She isnt' hurting me by hanging up. Little did I know she never cancelled my account.

She never cancelled my account obviously because my bank account had another $13.71 charge on it in January and I called very upset today and demanded they cancel my account and since she didn't like my tone, she said "I'm going to terminate this call" and then terminated my call without cancelling. Then I called back and was demanding that they cancel my account and he cancelled it and then I demanded he refund my money and he said no.

When I told him I was going to report them to the attorney general's office, I was told that he was going to terminate my call. They are obviously trained that if they don't want to cancel an account, they can just terminate the call and make people think their account was cancelled. I told him I wanted a confirmation of the cancellation and received one via email so at least now I know it is cancelled. I filed a request with my bank to have my account charges reversed, so we will see what the outcome is of that.
