Portfolio Recovery Associates
Wanna pay off an 11 year old debt?

Miscellaneous

On Feb 16 I was contacted by someone from Portfolio Recovery Associates asking if I remembered an account with Capital One. I told her that I never had an account with Capital One and hung up.

She called back almost immediately and informed me that this alleged debt had been accruing interest since 1998. I asked her if she had ever heard of the statute of limitations or was just plain insane.

She informed me that there was no statute of limitations on old loans and she would call me every hour on the hour till I agreed to pay this debt whether I owed it or not.

FIRST OF ALL the statue for this sort of thing is 7 years NOT 11.
SECONDLY the only CRIMINAL ACT (not civil) which has no limit is CAPITAL MURDER...

I told them that if they thought that they had a case I would anxiously await them to sue me in a court of law. She hung up and has called on the hour for the last 2 hours. I have since blocked the number...
