Won't even make it easy to make a payment - Student Loan Customer Service / Making a payment

I pay by check over the phone. I do this because if I mail in the check - they cash it whenever they want-regardless of the date written on the check. I had signed up for direct debit, which they screwed up and took too much money out of my account and refused to refund it. Ans, I couldn't even cancel that over the phone. I had to Fax a letter stating I wanted it canceled. Can their call center staff do ANYTHING? What is the point of calling them? They can't even take a payment. They can't give you your account number after playing 20 questions, but you can create an online account with just your social and you can get it that way? That makes absolutely no sense! I think these people are completely useless.
